The association was founded in 2004 by a group of young Romanian and French volunteers who decided to act to improve the plight of children and young people in difficulty in Satu Mare.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>
Stea<\/strong> is a Romanian association<\/strong> created in Satu Mare in 2004 that works in the field of socio-educational sector on inclusioneducational and socio-professional staff of the very precarious public<\/strong> living in S\u0103tm\u0103rel, via social support for theiraccess to rights and non-formal education. Since 2016, the Stea association has focused its action on supporting social inclusion<\/strong> in the municipality of Satu Mare. More than 450 people, including 181 minors, face serious socio-economic problems that are perpetuated from generation to generation and trap them in a vicious circle of poverty. The Stea Day Center<\/strong> program for children includes a hot meal\/day, school bags and supplies, clothes and shoes at the beginning of the school year, non-formal education: chess lessons, robotics, program to discover future professions, personal development, gardening, sports, literacy.At the same time, young people and mothers in the community participate in sewing workshops and a horticultural occupational therapy programme aimed at providing them with the necessary framework to develop the life skills necessary for social inclusion. The innovative activities<\/strong> and social services <\/strong>offered by the association support the social inclusion of marginalized people<\/strong>, with a focus on how to make the necessary efforts to build a better future themselves, while preparing the community to provide them with real opportunities for inclusion.The association provides social and basic services that meet the individual needs of vulnerable people (education, skills development, counselling, mediation, occupational therapy, training, support for professional integration) and actively contributes to the construction of viable solutions to reduce the scale of existing social problems and prevent their aggravation.The association is one of the social service providers accredited by the Ministry of Labour and Social Justice.<\/strong>Stea develops a systemic approach and intervenes in a way thatcoordinated on 6 main axes:<\/strong> 1. Ensure access to inclusive quality education for children and young people,2. Support life skills development andthe employability of young people and adults, 3. Support health education and promote access to health services; 4. Facilitate access to social and basic services for vulnerable people, 5. Mobilizing the community to solveproblems together, 6. Develop advocacy for non-discrimination and promote children’s rightsand marginalized youth. Since 2009, Stea has been developing its day care centre by offering social and educational services for the children, young people and adults concerned. <\/strong>In Romania, through socio-educational activities<\/strong>, Stea directly supports access to and retention in school and developmentStaff of 70 children\/young people (6 – 30 years old) living in the marginalised urban area of S\u0103tm\u0103rel in Satu Mare. Within its day care centre, Stea offers these children and young people a variety of fun and educational extracurricular activities: literacy, introduction to chess and preparation for competitions, computer and robotics courses, socio-emotional learning workshops, gardening and health and well-being education programmes, workshops to discover professions and socio-educational activities. Through an integration programme through gardening, Stea supports the development of the socio-professional capacities of young people and adults (16-50 years old) in S\u0103tm\u0103rel. In a cross-cutting way, Stea also supports access to health rights and health education for the entire population, i.e. about 450 people of all ages.<\/strong>The skills and expertise of the key people involved in this project are:<\/strong>– Coordination of socio-educational projects<\/strong> : During the 19 years of experience the Stea team has set up more than 25 yearsprojects with local, national and international funding. The Stea team is able to manage the activities in a way that isto supervise staff, ensure sound financial management and ensure the successful implementation ofProject objectives– Special Educators<\/g> : Stea’s team is made up of professionals trained in special education andwith experience in working with vulnerable populations, in particular Roma minors. The team hasGood classroom management, personal development and conflict resolution skills.– Literacy and non-formal education specialists<\/strong> : Members of the Stea team are specialists inliteracy with experience in teaching children and youth. They have an approach adapted todifferent levels of learning and be able to design effective teaching programs.– Personal Development Coaching Specialists<\/strong> : Stea’s team includes professionals trained toprovide psychosocial support to children and young people facing emotional and behavioural challenges. They areable to design and implement social-emotional learning workshops to strengthenParticipants’ psychosocial skills.–Health and wellness advocates<\/strong> : Stea’s team includes health and wellness professionals-Be with experience in health education and wellness promotion. They are able to designeducational programs and workshops on topics such as hygiene, nutrition and health <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n
