Citizens of Tomorrow: Europe in Common

The CiDEC project is at the crossroads of European values and youth education.

Imagined by the association Par Le Monde and funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, the project runs from the 2024 school year to 2026.

Our ambition? To bring together international actors involved in the formal and non-formal education of children aged 7 to 11 years.

Our goal? Democratise the use of innovative learning methods based on transdisciplinarity and the European values of mutual aid, as well as highlight youth work as a teaching vehicle.

How? Through classroom activities, training for youth professionals and the 1Village platform, which aims to bring together two partner countries in joint projects throughout the school year.

What is the 1Village platform? Created by the association Par Le Monde in 2020, 1Village is an educational network of digital exchanges that weaves cultural links between children from around the world and allows them to meet new cultures. It is a unique educational project, a French-speaking adventure that connects classes from all over the world around interculturality. A digital village to learn about the world. The idea is to promote the discovery of cultures and develop open-mindedness through an international educational course conducted in French. A world village is made up of about twenty classes, ten from one country and ten from another. The students can then discover the daily life of other children, throughout the school year, from October to June. 1Village is divided into 3 phases : first, discover, via videos, drawings and photos, to introduce yourself, then exchange by interacting with the productions of the other classes. Finally, the last step is called “imagine”: it is a question of envisioning together an “ideal village” with creative challenges.

1Village presents itself as an experience of civic and solidarity education. By putting children at the heart of the intercultural encounter, the programme invites them to co-construct a more curious, respectful and open world.
